Job Description

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Software Test Engineer - Product Owner to lead innovation in manufacturing test systems. In this role, you will guide a global Agile team to deliver high-reliability solutions that integrate hardware and software for complex and dynamic manufacturing environments.

This position demands command of agile/scrum, strong organizational abilities, and clear communication skills. You'll collaborate with a diverse network of global stakeholders and lead a worldwide scrum team through complex, dynamic priorities and technically advanced projects, all while championing agile transformation and driving meaningful change. You will work hybrid from Mayfield Heights, OH and report to the Manufacturing Software Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Product Owner for a cross-functional Agile team within a larger Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization, actively participating in sprint, product increment, and long-term roadmap planning.
  • Engage and collaborate with a broad network of stakeholders from multiple organizations and regions, acting as the primary point of contact for team priorities and communications.
  • Define and articulate a compelling team vision by thoughtfully prioritizing initiatives, ensuring the most impactful work is addressed amid competing high-priority demands.
  • Guide the team in balancing efforts across new product development, addressing technical debt, supporting manufacturing plant operations, and resiliency.
  • Champion innovation within manufacturing by exploring advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
  • Leverage modern CI/CD and Agile tools, advocating for the continuous improvement of development practices and toolsets.
  • Lead the development of robust, safety-critical manufacturing test systems for new products, integrating software, hardware, and systems engineering disciplines.
  • Drive innovation in agile planning across manufacturing
  • Oversee all phases of the development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release, maintenance, and ongoing support.
  • Initiate early collaboration with product teams to ensure new designs are optimized for testing and automation from the outset.
  • Mentor less experienced personnel, and encourage knowledge sharing and learning
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 25% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Experience as a product owner or experience on a scrum team with a foundational understanding of the role
  • Leadership experience with aspirations to grow as an agile leader
  • Foundational understanding of concepts in electrical and software engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience working in an Agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Experience developing software for systems involving both hardware and software
  • Experience developing software in languages such as C#, C++, or Python
  • Experience with Github Copilot or other AI tools
