Role description Job Title: Mid-level Mainframe Tester Key Responsibilities: Understand and analyze business and system requirements to create comprehensive test deliverables including test strategies, test plans, test cases/scripts, scenarios, and test data. Independently perform test planning, estimation, execution, and defect management across project phases. Participate in requirement review and grooming sessions; contribute to improving requirement quality by providing actionable feedback. Conduct regression testing, impact analysis, and ensure complete coverage of test cases. Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and testing best practices across sprints. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders. Own and drive defects to resolution by working with developers and relevant teams. Provide accurate test status reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support release and deployment testing activities as needed. Primary Skills: Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe Testing. Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language). Strong working knowledge of DB2 databases. Experience in Batch job triaging and debugging. Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation. Experience in working with Agile/Scrum methodology. Secondary Skills: Exposure to Java-based applications or understanding of Java code for better collaboration with dev teams. Familiarity with Selenium or similar test automation tools. Understanding of BDD (Behavior Driven Development) practices. Experience in data migration testing, including data validation and reconciliation. Good to Have Skills: Hands-on experience or working knowledge of AWS cloud environments. Experience in the Healthcare domain or knowledge of healthcare data standards. Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM). Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in DevOps workflows. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification is a plus.
