Job Summary

Ensure cost-effective land base management and value-added environmental services which include (but not limited to): land sourcing and permitting; nutrient management planning (NMP) and mapping; technical support for operational compliance and product use; logistics and source destination management; regulatory monitoring and reporting.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities



  1. Provide functional leadership for area, manage and coordinate with internal and external customers including interfacing with environmental regulatory agencies, the public, and farmers.
  2. Accountable for operational excellence, compliance, safety and securing land base of farmers and forest owners for the area.
  3. Oversee permitted land base inventory to meet operational requirements and provide strategic growth for the business, using land base data management and geomapping tools.
  4. Provide technical information and presentations to farmers, regulatory agencies, municipal clients and the general public.
  5. Manage preparation and quality of permit applications and nutrient management
  6. Interpret analytical results, comply with regulation and permit conditions and participate in company policy development.
  7. Regulatory recordkeeping and reporting with timeliness and accuracy.
  8. Coordinate area participation in professional and agricultural organizations.
  9. Provide direction and oversight for public relations and community outreach.
  10. Monitor, track and coordinate changes in applicable regulations and legislative activity.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities



  1. Leadership, supervisory and talent management skills to include training/coaching/mentoring.
  2. Cost-effective logistics and source destination management skills.
  3. Knowledge of financial budget management and planning
  4. Knowledge of biosolids and other residuals management practices and their associated local, state, and federal regulations
  5. Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures, methods and techniques used in agricultural and silvicultural operations
  6. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  7. Ability to travel overnight
  8. Proficient with MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Mapping Programs


Education/Experiences



  1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Environmental Science or greater than five years' experience in agricultural, silvicultural or environmental field with an Associate's degree
  2. Supervisory experience preferred
  3. Successful experience working with regulatory agencies required
  4. Experience with public relations and community outreach
  5. Strong knowledge and understanding of 503 rules and regulations
  6. Certification as Nutrient Management Planner or registration in an agricultural science discipline preferred
  7. Valid driver's license


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements



  1. Performs duties in a safe, compliant and professional manner
  2. Ability to travel overnight
  3. The worker is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions
  4. The worker is exposed to Biosolids.
