Job Summary: |
The position is responsible for the full spectrum of surgical oncology diseases. This role will be mostly focused on colorectal cancer and HIPEC. Will participate in medical student, resident and fellow education as well as research and scholarly activity commensurate with qualifications. Key Responsibilities:
- All aspects of complex surgical oncology
- Education of students, residents and fellows
- Development of a cancer focused research program
- Scholarly activities related to surgical oncology
- Scope of work will span both the Anschutz Medical Campus and associated locations.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Assistant Professor:
- MD/DO
- Board certified in General Surgery (or equivalent)
- Surgical Oncology (or equivalent) Fellowship
- CO Medical license or license eligible
Associate Professor:
- MD/DO
- Board certified in General Surgery (or equivalent)
- Surgical Oncology (or equivalent) Fellowship
- CO Medical license or license eligible
- Experience specializing in HIPEC/colorectal/surgical oncology surgery (2 years minimum)
- Existing rank as Assistant Professor for 3 years
Professor:
- MD/DO
- Board certified in General Surgery (or equivalent).
- Surgical Oncology (or equivalent) Fellowship completion.
- CO Medical license or license eligible.
- Experience specializing in HIPEC/colorectal/surgical oncology surgery (7 years minimum)
- Existing rank as Associate Professor for 5 years.
- Fulfill the requirements to be appointed at the rank of Professor at the University of Colorado.
- Experience in an academic environment with proven clinical, education and research accomplishments.
Preferred Qualifications Assistant Professor:
- Broad experience with relevant paper authorship (compatible with the academic position)
Associate Professor:
- Demonstrated significant success with clinical paper authorship
Professor:
- Demonstrated success with relevant paper authorship and a quality relevant to the academic rank
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (All Ranks):
- Excellent communication skills
- Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of surgical oncology diseases
- Successful background in research and scholarly activities

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE Assistant Professor: $268,145 - $320,000 Associate Professor: $328,422 - $392,387 Professor: $388,605 - $481,479 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
