As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting our commitment to quality, safety, and innovation. What You Will Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as a key technical resource for new product development and major plant expansions.

  • Support the implementation of new technologies and process improvements.

  • Provide engineering support across departments including Materials, Quality Control, Safety, and Operations.

  • Participate in the development of long- and short-term operational plans.

  • Ensure alignment of manufacturing standards between the Albany plant and other Johnson Controls facilities.

  • Maintain required corporate and local data (e.g., severity, frequency, audits).

  • Assist with JCMS-related activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Promote and ensure safe work practices across the facility.

  • Provide training and guidance to employees at all levels.

  • Contribute to various assignments and projects that support Johnson Controls' quality and performance goals.

How You Will Do It

  • Apply sound economic and engineering principles to optimize equipment and space utilization.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and solve manufacturing challenges.

  • Leverage AutoCAD and other tools to support design and layout improvements.

  • Utilize formal problem-solving methodologies to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and process standardization.

  • Uphold Johnson Controls' Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards in all activities.

What We Look For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of progressive, hands-on manufacturing engineering or quality experience.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Experience with financial controls and product costing.

  • Strong knowledge of formal problem-solving methods.

Preferred:

  • Experience with new product and process introductions.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
