Who We Are Pediatric Specialist BioMarin is the world leader in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with serious and life-threatening rare genetic diseases. We target diseases that lack effective therapies and affect relatively small numbers of patients, many of whom are children. These conditions are often inherited, difficult to diagnose, progressively debilitating, and have few, if any, treatment options. BioMarin will continue to focus on advancing therapies that are the first or best of their kind.
This role will work alongside the Skeletal Dysplasia Sales team, which focuses on patients living with Achondroplasia . Achondroplasia is the most common form of human dwarfism and is characterized by failure of normal conversion of cartilage into bone, which results in disproportionate short stature. The Pediatric Specialist is responsible for maximizing prescriptions/referrals within key accounts and institutions throughout geography, representing BioMarin commercialized products in their area. They must demonstrate a consultative selling approach and ability to demonstrate credibility and develop trust with multiple layers of decision makers within the HCP offices. They will need ability to customize and deliver clinical content in a straightforward and actionable way to drive more product adoption at local level. Accountability throughout all stages of the "find" from lead validation to referral and/or from prescriber to product adoption. The Pediatric Specialist will also have a role in messaging with HCP's that have current patients on therapy. SUMMARY The ideal candidate will have sales experience in pediatrics and/or comparable sales experience. The Pediatric Specialist maintains a high level of knowledge within the disease state and product labeling. The primary call target is pediatrics and key subspecialties to drive awareness and utilization in targeted patient segments. Targeted pediatricians with ACH patients will be key call points in filling the funnel and activating brand awareness and loyalty. Activities include disease state and product education to HCPs. Must be goal-oriented and accountable for their individual performance, while acting in a professional and compliant manner.
