Description

The Director, Executive Talent Management role builds the future leadership bench, designing and implementing executive talent management strategies and programs for our SVP+ executives. This role ensures we are identifying, building, and preparing our current and next generation of leaders to lead Salesforce today and into the future. With a primary focus on succession planning, leader pipeline development, retention/engagement, and executive talent initiatives, this role collaborates closely with senior leaders in Employee Success and the business to develop a strong, diverse leadership bench across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Succession Planning - Develop and deliver a comprehensive succession planning strategy, identifying critical leadership roles and criteria for key successors. Define measures of success and ongoing governance. Partner with senior Employee Success leaders to drive ongoing accountability for the program. Work with the data analytics team to analyze successor information and enhance the critical role dashboard. Provide support in preparing for quarterly board meetings.

  • Leadership Pipeline - Create and influence processes to identify, develop, and place high potential leaders for future roles within Salesforce. Establish guidance and processes to enable this at scale. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance successor profiles, and create greater objective assessment of readiness.

  • Executive Talent Management Strategy - Design and implement the end-to-end executive talent management strategy roadmap, developing a framework for how to retain, engage, and move talent. Use data to identify success and gap areas, and identify critical business outcomes to ensure our strategy drives the highest impact. Lead implementation of a comprehensive plan focused on SVP+ retention and engagement.

  • Talent Identification - Identify future-ready skills, capabilities, and experiences for key executive roles and successor readiness. Build a scalable and engaging assessment strategy and approach to identify key strengths and development opportunities for critical executive talent and successors.

  • Collaborate and Influence. Build deep partnerships with critical ES teams, including ES Leadership and Business Partners, the Office of Equality, Enterprise Learning, Executive Recruiting, Executive Onboarding, and Compensation.

Requirements:

  • Subject matter expertise in talent management required

  • Graduate degree or certificate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Leadership/Organization Development (OD), Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of progressive Leadership/TM/OD/OE experience within large organizations or equally complex environments

  • Extensive experience delivering leadership and talent programs, including succession and pipeline development practices

  • Deep knowledge of leadership and talent management best practices

  • Strong analytical skills and a proficiency in building data-driven talent strategies

  • Track record of driving positive organizational change in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $177,600 to $257,600. For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $177,600 to $257,600.
