Rutgers University-Camden seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking Manager for the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology (
CCIB). This role reports to the Center Director to oversee and enhance the financial, operational, and strategic administration of
CCIB. The Manager will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting the Center's mission to advance
STEM research and education. The Manager will be expected to identify and implement innovative operational strategies that enhance the CCIB's research impact, interdisciplinary collaboration, and
STEM program development.
In addition to supporting the Center's academic and research initiatives, the Manager will be responsible for leading and improving day-to-day administrative operations, including oversight of business processes, internal workflows, and compliance with university policies and procedures. This includes strategic budget management, grants management and oversight in collaboration with the Office of Research and principal investigators, and high-level reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
The Manager will also lead efforts to elevate CCIB's visibility through marketing, communications, and community engagement, while cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as a
STEM field (computer science, engineering, the biosciences, etc); business administration or management, organizational management, nonprofit management or public administration, higher education administration or general administrative studies, plus an additional five years of demonstrated and relevant work experience.
Required skills and abilities or previous experience:
* Proven ability to work across established scientific disciplines and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
* Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead complex initiatives, manage timelines, and coordinate diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interpret and convey scientific research to varied audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve business processes, enhance research support systems, and foster interdisciplinary engagement
* High-level organizational and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to the needs and goals of faculty, students, staff, and external partners.
* Demonstrated ability to design and improve scalable, user-centered administrative processes.
* Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.
* Adaptability in dynamic academic and research environments.
* Familiarity with workflow tracking, onboarding, financial reporting, and communication platforms (e.g., ticketing systems, dashboards, Slack, Office 365).
* Experience with grant application development, submission, and post-award management.
* Experience working with leadership to support the management of multi-million dollar budgets |

STEM training programs.
* Experience introducing or managing innovative systems, platforms, or practices in a research or academic setting |
