Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Nutrition Manager of the Eating Disorder Unit must be a Registered Dietitian, preferably with a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition, who oversees the clinical nutrition aspects of the unit. The clinical nutrition aspects of the unit include, but are not limited to, managing the team of registered dietitians, ensuring patients receive meals compliant with their prescribed dietary orders, maintaining compliance with state and regulatory standards and participating in community outreach initiatives,

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years experience in a clinical setting
  • CEDRD
    • Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian or obtain credential within 1 year as condition of employment

Preferred:

  • Masters Degree Strongly Preferred
  • CEDRD-S Preferred (Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian Supervisor)
  • Strong Medical Nutrition Therapy Knowledge with the ability to keep up with new research and recommendations from professional practice groups as Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, etc
  • Experience with Adults and Adolescents

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Active CDR certification
  • A Registered Dietitian Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Active ServSafe Certification

Essential Functions:

  • Directs daily operations of nutrition programs for patients including the screening, assessment, medical nutrition therapy interventions, menu planning, inpatient care, nutrition education to ensure patient needs are met
  • Nutrition Monitoring
  • Maintains a strong knowledge and expertise in evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy:
    • This includes specific areas including eating disorders, pediatrics, critical care, dialysis, and neonatal nutrition
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local and DNV and ISO regulations
  • Ensures registered dietitians have the appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to successfully perform their daily duties and responsibilities
  • Writes, revises and implement eating disorders clinical nutrition policies and procedures
  • Competent in conducting and teaching how to perform a nutrition focused physical assessment
  • Administrator of the food and nutrition computer program called Healthtouch
  • Ensure orientation of clinical nutrition staff is thoroughly completed
  • Support the orientation of other food service staff, especially in regards to understanding therapeutic diets and using HealthTouch
  • Provides input on staffing needs of the department and manages designated staffing schedules
  • Ensures staff licensures and certification are active and renewed appropriately
  • Enters accurate payroll information in a timely manner
  • Actively teach and use High Reliability Organization tools
  • Implements, oversees and reports on quality improvement projects
  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate
  • Completes reporting staff annual reviews
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office programs
