Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. ETL/SQL Engineer to join our team. This role will support IT infrastructure by managing data models, database systems, and ETL pipelines, while driving performance optimization, reliability, and secure data operations. The Sr. ETL/SQL Engineer will play a critical role in designing and maintaining robust database architecture and ensuring seamless data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.

Job Responsibilities

As a Sr. ETL/SQL Engineer, you will:



  • Review and optimize SQL code to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with client requirements.
  • Maintain and manage data domains, ensuring structured, consistent, and efficient data organization.
  • Oversee daily database and ETL operations, monitoring workflows to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Monitor cybersecurity principles and implement safeguards to protect sensitive data.
  • Aggregate and optimize performance across multiple data sources, building unified views to enhance insights and decision-making.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain VistA tables to ensure ongoing improvements and usability.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data operations, availability, and performance.
  • Support existing and new ETL processes, ensuring smooth and reliable migration of data across systems.
  • Facilitate data distribution across enterprise platforms, optimizing accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including code repositories, process workflows, and user manuals.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Must be able to obtain a government clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in ETL development, SQL engineering, and database management.
  • Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing database architecture.
  • Proficiency in writing and tuning complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows.
  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise data pipelines.
  • Solid knowledge of data security best practices.
  • Ability to monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot high-volume ETL and SQL workloads.
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps tools including Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, SQL Server).

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $110K-$150k.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
