Position description

Junior or Assistant Specialist - Pan lab

The Pan lab in the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking for a Junior or Assistant Specialist. This position is part-time. The incumbent will perform ATF3 and its downstream molecule gene and protein expression study using ATF3 transgenic mice. The incumbent will also help to perform histology and behavioral analyses on spinal injured ATF3 Tg mice.

Required Qualifications:



  • Junior Specialist - Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) related to biological/biomedical sciences or related fields or at least four years of research experience.
  • Assistant Specialist - Master's degree related to biological/biomedical sciences or related fields or a baccalaureate degree related to biological/biomedical sciences or related fields with 3 or more years of research experience.
  • Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire.
  • Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.


See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $55,000 - $70,700. The actual salary will be prorated based on the final offer appointment percentage effort.
