Organizational Unit Overview
The College of Nursing ( CON) is an academic unit within the Division of Academic Affairs at East Carolina University. The College of Nursing has a Baccalaureate, including pre-licensure, Accelerated baccalaureate and an RN- BSN option, PhD, DNP, and a Masters program, which includes concentrations in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwifery, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psych Mental Health, Nursing Education, Nurse Anesthesia and Nursing Leadership. The student enrollment is 1200 students. There are 113 faculty and 43 support staff. The College itself is located on the west campus. The college has three departments: Department of Baccalaureate Education, Department of Advanced Nursing Practice and Education, and Department of Nursing Science. The College of Nursing has academic support offices and a Business Office. The Business Office provides support to offices of the following: The Dean, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Associate Dean for the Undergraduate Program, Associate Dean for Nursing Support Services (which includes Student Services, the Advising Center, Concepts Integration Lab, Counseling and Development, Information Technology, and a Learning Resources Center), and the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.
Job Duties
This position now provides total administrative support to all faculty and staff on the RN to BSN, RIBN and aRIBN pathways, which consists of the Director, Senior Student Success Advocate, Student Success Advocates, and Student Advisors. Tasks include but are not limited to registering all student classes, providing written correspondence involving admission letters, unofficial transcript reviews and other specific correspondence as determined by Director, faculty, and staff.
This position serves as the gatekeeper for e-mail site and phone calls. This position fields questions, makes referrals to the appropriate personnel as needed and maintains the record system for all RIBN students.

This position codes all RN/ BSN RIBN and aRIBN students and registers all RN/ BSN and RIBN and aRIBN students for courses each semester in the University system. Upon request during the designated times, the employee is responsible for adding or dropping courses/schedules from the University system.
This position also includes retrieving mail from a central location in the CON and sorting and distributing it appropriately. The employee is responsible for opening and dating the mail of the Director and making decisions as to which items may be handled routinely, and which require the Directors attention. Any inquires as to the RN to BSN, RIBN and aRIBN pathways are sent to this office.
