Airgas is Hiring for an Accounting Analyst!

  • This is a hybrid position; 2 days in office and 3 days remote.

  • Office is located in Kennesaw, GA.

Job Description Summary: The Accounting Analyst will support the business objectives based on the Controller organization's scope of responsibility. The major areas of responsibility will include: financial accounting and reporting, including month-end close processes; general ledger account analyses; preparation and posting of journal entries; research, analyses and reporting; internal reporting requests related to Division, Regional branches and Corporate; fulfilling requests related to internal/external audit and other ad hoc analyses and special projects.

  • Month-end procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries including:

    • General Accounting / Accruals, as noted below

    • Inventory / Stock (Mass Balance)

    • Product Costing

  • Daily Cash Reconciliation (DCR) process

  • Perform tasks ensuring accurate financial and statistical close processes, in conjunction with ALABS, including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines. Direct responsibility will include:

    • Significant sales accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation.

    • Significant COS & OPEX accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation.

    • Localized accounting topics including, but not limited to, real estate taxes and personal property taxes.

    • Ad-hoc entries arising from the month end close review process

  • Contribute to the product costing process including:

    • Calculate, maintain, and update standard gas and hard-goods costs as required.

    • Preparation of daily Moving Average Price (MAP) analysis.

    • Cost of sales account analysis, research and preparation of account reconciliations.

    • Creation of bulk and subcontract blanket purchase orders.

  • Preparation of reports and other information related to internal requests from the division/branches as well as Corporate.

  • Ensures compliance with the Company's financial policies/procedures and other matters related to compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

  • At least two years prior accounting/finance experience.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of general accounting matters and IFRS/GAAP.

  • Intermediate computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Excel), experience with SAP and/or ERP systems a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industrial gas or manufacturing experience is a plus.
