| Job Summary: The STS Global Payroll Manager is responsible for assisting clients with managing global payroll liabilities, minimizing compliance risks, and identifying and recovering overpaid global payroll. This position provides written global payroll advice to clients, evaluates alternative courses of action to lessen global payroll burden and cost of compliance, and identifies potential changes in global payroll policy and regulations. In this role, the Global Payroll Manager will be charged with marketing, networking and business development within their area of experience and specialization and recognizing potential changes in tax policy and applying new policies to tax compliance. In addition, the Global Payroll Manager will work with the Core Tax Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers to provide global payroll expertise to their clients. Job Duties: Research: 
 
 
 Identifies all situations when research is necessary and conducts appropriate investigation on identified topicsAnalyzes researched facts and the sources utilized Prepares studies of global payroll implications and outlines alternative courses of action to clientsPartners with other Core Tax and Specialized Tax Services professionals to resolve complex and contentious matters
 
 Tax Compliance: 
 
 
 Ensures clients comply with applicable authorities while identifying options for managing client's' global payroll and reporting burdensManages engagements to ensure engagement metrics are achievedCollaborates with Business Development team and other strategic parties to drive global payroll compliance service offerings
 
 Tax Consulting: 
 
 
 Handles all inquiries from federal and state agencies regarding all global payroll issues and questionsDrafts responses to examiner questions and challengesMonitors implementations of work plans for global payroll consulting projectsProvides recommended solutions by combining global payroll knowledge and knowledge of business / industry
 
 Tax Controversy: 
 
 
 Represents clients before any global payroll authority on contested issuesResponds to all questions from federal or state agencies 
 
 Tax Specialization: 
 
 
 Acts as an industry expert in Global Payroll ServicesIdentifies cross-selling opportunities with other tax specializationsManages Global Payroll Services provided to assigned clientsDevelops tools and/or improvements allowing for the enhancement and efficiency of the Global Payroll Services practice
 
 Strategy Development: 
 
 
 Develops new or improved ideas to advance the position of clients, the firm or firm personnel through the management of global payrollParticipates in relevant industry groups Leads marketing campaigns and external SALT Global Payroll Services initiatives

 Supervises the day-to-day workload of Global Payroll Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product Ensures Global Payroll Senior Associates, Associates and Interns are trained on all relevant tax softwareEvaluates the performance of Global Payroll Senior Associates and Associates and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for Global Payroll Senior Associates, Associates and InternsActs as Career Advisor to Global Payroll Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriate
 
 Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: 
 
 
 Bachelors degree, required; focus in Accounting, Finance, or Business, preferredMasters degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Business, preferredJuris Doctorate, preferred
 
 Experience: 
 
 
 Six (6) or more years of prior experience in employment tax experience, requiredExperience supervising employment tax professionals on a project or engagement basis, required Experience with corporate taxation, preferred
 
 License/Certifications: 
 
 
 CPA certification or Enrolled Agent certification, preferred
 
 Software: 
 
 
 Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, preferredExposure to and familiarity with standard global payroll applications and research tools, preferred

 Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $94,500 - $189,000Maryland Range: $94,500 - $189,000
 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $94,500 - $189,000
