| Description Job Summary 
  
 Leadership and accountability for all aspects of discipline engineering for the CES US team, from solution development through hand-over to project execution, including on-going support for engineering change management. Leads the engineering and standards development for bulk customer installations for the Markets, Healthcare, and Electronics groups with focus on quality, continuous improvement, and safety best practices for all bulk products produced and all customer market segments supported by CES.This includes all aspects of bulk system design (standard and complex CES systems; cryogenic and high-pressure on-site storage) in support of the Industrial, Healthcare, and Electronics businesses. The Senior Manager leads the in-house department as well as ensures the proper external support to develop best-in-class solutions for these needs.Responsible for applying sound engineering principles, judgement, and risk assessment methodologies to support strategic and operational decision-making within the company. Evaluates technical, operational, and financial risks to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective outcomes that align with business goals while protecting employees, Messer customers, and the Messer brand. Leads the department by example to promote behavioral safety.In support of Messer new bulk business goals, the Senior Manager shall be capable of Leadership and Accountability for all aspects of technical solution development and proposal delivery for the systems noted above. This includes ownership of CES design and estimation tools and the delivery of consistent technical design proposals within established SLAs. The Senior Manager ensures a collaborative effort amongst the Design, Asset Management, and Proposal Engineering team members that are involved in the proposal process and ensures there is cooperation with other members of the CES team where appropriate.The Senior Manager also has Leadership and Accountability for forecasting, provision, and inventory management for the GDE asset base for the US CES/Bulk business, along with gathering standard asset needs from other Messer departments for inclusion in purchase plans. This includes qualification and management of key suppliers from whom Messer purchases GDE assets. Support of the Plant Business Development Process of new major capital projects, as relates to bulk system design questions and alignment with Messer delivery standards.Development and implementation of appropriate tools, processes to promote alignment with the Managers for CES Project Engineering, CES Maintenance and Services, and CES Central Support, along with promoting alignment with Messer's Production, Reliability, Large Projects, and Sales teams.

 Technical ownership and management of the engineering standards relevant to CES Bulk Customer Installations including; tank foundation civil engineering designs/standards and equipment layouts, standard bulk storage system Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, pressure control and low temperature protection manifolds, LIN, LAR, LOX, CO2, USPLOX, N2O USP and NF LIN Medical systems standard designs and validations, LH2 and HP gaseous Hydrogen standard system designs, oxygen materials compatibility, piping/fittings/gaskets specifications, bulk cryogenic & CO2 storage equipment rehab specifications, and UHP Electronics bulk customer installations.Lead the national QMS standards development and maintenance for CES bulk customer installation standards for the benefit of CES personnel.Ensure CES designs, standards and specifications are aligned with Messer HSEQ policies and procedures (e.g. Hazops, HWP, ECPs, etc). Provide technical subject matter expert support for safety incident investigations involving bulk customer installations.Develop and implement structured training programs for CES service and installation/project execution personnel to ensure technical competence, safety, and alignment with department & company standards.Works collaboratively in support of other parts of CES to help the team deliver projects, maintenance, and services as assigned, safely, to specification, on schedule, and on budget.Ensure that all engineering deliverables related to CES design are provided on-time, and with the agreed quality.Provide proposals in response to Markets requests on-time, and with the agreed quality.Ensure promised project scopes are defined appropriately and consistent with Messer practices.Work closely with vendors, CES, Apps PX, or Large Projects PX to identify the best asset and installation support model for each need.Ensure that the Director, CES is properly appraised of short- and medium-term issues with both the members of the team and the proposals/engineering efforts in execution.Maintain strong awareness of industry codes and changes, participate as required in CGA committees and other industry efforts as needed, or delegate to team members as appropriate. Ensure that CES bulk customer installation standards and procedures are aligned with industry best practices and national codes.Lead Engineering Management of Change for CES bulk cryogenic and CO2 customer sites. Fulfil role as EMOC Change Manager for bulk customer installations.Ownership and management of CES proposal design, reporting, and tracking tools (i.e. HAL, Monday.com) and alignment of those tools with IT best practices for sustainability as required.Technical qualification and quality management of bulk storage equipment key suppliers; provides technical support/input to Procurement with respect to supplier agreements. Identification of multiple suppliers for all key assets.Departmental cost and discipline managementRecruiting and training engineers to maintain and expand Messer's capabilities is a key requirement of this position; leadership for development of the team personnel and that team's collaboration with the larger CES and Messer organizationsAssist in the development of annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets as required. Ensures responsible and efficient use of CAPEX.Interface with key stakeholders throughout the organization; collaboration and influence with CES Field Service & Project Execution, Procurement, Markets Applications Sales and Project Execution PEXA, HR, Performance Improvement, and IT.

 Basic Qualifications: 
  
 Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)Minimum of 10 years of engineering design experience in a process-based industry (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, chemicals)Minimum of 5 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role, ideally experience supervising discipline engineers and engineering design delivery
 Preferred Qualifications: 
  
 Advanced technical degree and/or P.E. licence a plus.10 years of industrial gas industry & cryogenic equipment experience preferred
 The salary range for this position is $131,000-$192,000.
