Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Technical Training Specialist with a strong background in manufacturing processes for aircraft and aerospace components. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and delivery of technical training programs for site operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong engineering and technical knowledge, proven instructional capabilities, and the ability to develop structured curricula that support employee growth and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver sitespecific technical training programs, including curriculum design, lesson plans, instructional materials, handson exercises, and assessments.
- Translate engineering concepts and manufacturing processes into accessible training content for operators, technicians, apprentices, and other technical roles.
- Lead classroom instruction, handson demonstrations, and onthejob training activities.
- Guide new hires through technical onboarding and serve as the primary instructor throughout the probationary period.
- Coordinate the training calendar, including scheduling, completion tracking, and documentation of all training activities.
- Maintain and enhance training materials, learning environments, training center equipment, and digital instructional media.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of technical training programs and recommend improvements to content, delivery methods, and processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, HR, and Quality to ensure training aligns with business objectives, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Curriculum Development Skills
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and evaluating technical training curricula aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes.
- Familiarity with instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and Kirkpatrick.
- Experience creating competency frameworks, skills matrices, and careerprogression pathways for technical roles.
Delivery & Facilitation
- Skilled in delivering technical training to diverse audiences, including operators, apprentices, technicians, and engineers.
- Practical understanding of industrial training procedures and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to adhere to all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable facilitating small and large group sessions, handson demonstrations, and trainthetrainer programs.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Operations, HR, and leadership teams to align training initiatives with operational and organizational priorities.
- Demonstrated projectmanagement experience, including establishing training centers, managing budgets, and coordinating resources.
- Passion for technical talent development and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related discipline).
- 7-10 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering technical training programs (classroom and handson).
- Experience developing or managing training centers, instructional environments, or structured learning facilities.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and technical coaching skills.
- Working knowledge of aerospace or advanced manufacturing processes.
- Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance requirements, with ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in instructional design or adult learning (ATD, ASTD, Kirkpatrick, or equivalent).
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training tools.
- Background in aerospace, defense, or highprecision manufacturing.
- Experience in change management and program implementation.
Compensation Data
Annual Salary: $110,192.00 - $165,288.00
