What You'll Do

As a Reactive Ore Testing Contractor, you will be responsible to process, testing, and drafting of reports on results from testing potentially reactive (not radio active) ore

  • Participate in management planning to evaluate, coordinate, and prioritize projects; use project management software to plan, execute and track progress on projects to ensure timely and cost-effective development.
  • Be capable of designing and running analytical test methods (including relevant data analysis) for scientific instruments, functional and physical analysis, etc., that support technology development within the company.
  • Become knowledgeable about the science of industrial explosives and specifically the technology of Dyno Nobel utilizing literature and patents, interactions, and collaborations within Dyno Nobel locally and globally, industry intelligence, site visits, training opportunities, etc.
  • Comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of all employees, company assets, environment and regulatory compliance to include but not limited to EPA, DOT, ATF, DHS, MSHA.
  • Apply and enforce regulatory health and safety requirements and implement the DNA HSE Management System.
  • Must satisfy the requirement for a "possessor of explosives" as defined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S) from four-year college or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in advanced studies can be counted toward requirement.
  • Minimum of 2 years laboratory experience.
  • Experience and understanding of equipment maintenance and common analytical instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of chemistry and familiarity with typical instrumentation, chemical analysis methods, etc.
  • Use of efficient techniques in development, experimentation and testing such as statistical design of experiments and statistical data analysis to limit material and time costs.
  • Computer Skills: Solid understanding of Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Mathematical skills sufficient to understand and apply the disciplines of chemistry, basic physics, etc.
  • Good laboratory, scientific and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
