Position Purpose:

In 2023, the Lindt & Sprungli group announced their approved Science Based Targets initiative (approved by SBTi), with long term (2050) net-zero targets. This announcement was paired with a high-level roadmap to achieving targets. The organization is currently working on emissions reductions actions across all scopes. This internship will focus on helping the Lindt decarbonization team develop and improve upon internal tools used to assess scope 3 emissions reduction potential (ex. product carbon footprint - PCF). These tools are becoming key in enabling teams across operations departments to consider emissions impact in the decision making process, and driving emissions reductions.

What To Expect as a Lindtern:

Our twelve-week Lindternship program offers hands-on experience allowing undergraduate and graduate students to gain practical skills and contribute to projects that directly impact our business. During the summer, interns will be paired with a mentor, attend professional career development workshops/sessions and attend networking events to meet additional team members.



Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather insights and inputs, and improve the current product carbon footprint tool
  • Analyze data flows across several data management platforms and make recommendations to improve data flows and insights
  • Improve visualization of carbon impact at the product level, to support teams across the new product development and product change processes
  • Develop training and educational materials on PCF and carbon footprinting to support decarbonization goals
  • Support the EHS team in driving other environmental and carbon impact reductions projects and initiatives



Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience:



  • Prior internship and/or Project focused process and results oriented positions
  • Experience performing Product Carbon Foot-printing, preferably for food or agricultural products
  • Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement



Skills & Knowledge:



  • Familiarity with the GHG Protocol and carbon foot-printing methodology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process optimization and data analysis
  • Ability to develop and maintain well organized documentation systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning new tools and methodologies
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software e.g., Excel, PowerBi, Enterprise Software (SAP)



Education:



  • Be a Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program - Preferably with a focus on Environmental Sustainability, Engineering or Data Analytics
