DESCRIPTION

The Gift Officer maintains and grows key alumni and friend relationships for Dunwoody College of Technology in order

to raise support for the college, student scholarships and scholarship programs, and academic programs. As part of a

development team, this individual will strategically manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, with a robust portfolio

of prospects in the $10,000-$25,000 range and a focus on securing gifts of $10,000 and above to advance the strategic

initiatives of the college. Managing a portfolio of 125+prospects, the Gift Officer will focus on building the donor

pipeline by qualifying future major gift prospects, engaging and upgrading corporate donors, and stewarding planned

giving donors to maintain and grow legacy support. Success in this role will require collaborative partnership with

college leadership, program staff and academic deans and faculty. This position reports to the Senior Director of Major

Gifts and Planned Giving.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS

The Gift Officer will:



  • Manage a portfolio of 125+ prospects comprised of individual, corporations, and family/corporate foundations.
  • The GO will collaborate with Prospect Development to identify, rate, cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level donors for annual giving and campaign.
  • Conceive of and implement solicitation strategies for prospect portfolios, including writing or managing the presentations and proposals, and, often, composing correspondence on behalf of others.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors and collaborate with faculty and other individuals who have the ability to deepen prospect and donor engagement with Dunwoody.
  • Work with Dunwoody's Leadership, faculty, volunteers, and staff to identify, qualify, and cultivate prospects for
  • annual giving and campaign.
  • Assist with the growth of fundraising initiatives aligned with the college goals, including participation in outreach events to meet, identify, and qualify prospective donors.
  • Build a culture of philanthropy that attracts large/national, regional, and local donors.
  • Follow department processes and policies to support strong development functions.
  • Assist the Institutional Advancement teams as needed, including hosting or attending events that may occur outside of standard business hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional fundraising, with demonstrated success in soliciting gifts of $5,000+.
  • Leadership ability and experience, especially the ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities required to achieve the Institutional Advancement goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills that support a collaborative work environment and frequent constituent interactions.
  • An appreciation of the culture of technical higher education.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Ability to travel to donor and prospect meetings regularly.
  • Excellent demonstrated written and oral communication skills (writing samples required).
  • Familiarity with and willingness to use development and organizational communication software such as Raiser's Edge, Crescendo, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with Google in order to be as self-sufficient as possible in day-to-day operations.
