 About This Talent Community We're building a talent pipeline of experienced Pet Talent Coordinators and Animal Handlers to support our client's growing content production needs. By joining this community, you'll be considered for upcoming opportunities working with animals in a professional studio environment. Our client is a leading eCommerce company that creates engaging photo and video content featuring pets as the stars. Role Overview This position is part of a dedicated Pet Talent team working with animals for both video and photography production. You'll work directly with pet talent, pet parents, and in-house content creators in a dynamic studio environment that produces content for web, social media, TV commercials, and more. A primary focus of this role is building the confidence and skills of pets through positive reinforcement training while observing and acknowledging animal behavior and stress signals in a fast-paced production setting. As a Pet Talent Coordinator, you'll serve as the voice and advocate for the animals, ensuring their well-being while helping create exceptional content. You'll also play a key role in training and educating team members with diverse experience levels, including both freelance and full-time staff. What You'll Do Animal Handling & Training: 
 
 
 Apply knowledge of species and breed-specific behaviors to encourage pets to present desirable behaviors for the cameraConduct training sessions with cats and dogs using positive reinforcement techniquesWrite training plans for shaping new behaviors and advancing pet skillsBuild confidence in pets through consistent, positive experiences in the studio environmentSupervise all interactions with pets to ensure the safety of both animals and people
 
 Pet Advocacy & Communication: 
 
 
 Monitor pet behavior and stress levels during sessions, noting any changesServe as the advocate for pet talent, communicating their needs to on-set teams and leadershipIdentify and report any safety concerns on or off set immediatelyCraft and maintain a stress-free environment for pets by proactively addressing their needsCommunicate with internal teams to set pets up for success and propose alternative solutions when needed
 
 Talent Management & Casting: 
 
 
 Complete studio testing with new pets to determine their eligibility for castingUpdate pet casting database with photos and behavioral informationNetwork with potential pet parent contacts for casting opportunitiesBuild positive relationships with pet parents and maintain ongoing communication
 
 Training & Education: 
 
 
 Conduct extensive research on new animal behavior training and techniquesBuild and present educational presentations for pet team and studio staffMentor other handlers on new training techniques and approachesTake initiative in advancing your knowledge and skills on animal behavior and training concepts
 
 Studio Operations: 
 
 
 Follow all Pet Talent Team procedures and protocolsSet up, break down, and clean pet holding areasAssist Pet Talent Team with other duties as assignedMaintain organized documentation of pet information and behaviors
 
 What You'll Need Required Qualifications: 
 
 
 Minimum 1 year of professional animal experience (training, handling, veterinary, shelter, or similar)Must be comfortable around all animals including cats, dogs, horses, reptiles, and rodentsNo animal allergiesStrong understanding of animal body language and stress signalsExperience with positive reinforcement training methodsExcellent observational skills and attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic production environmentPhysical ability to handle animals of various sizes and set up/break down equipment
 
 Preferred Qualifications: 
 
 
 Animal training certification or formal education in animal behaviorKnowledge of animal behavior/behavior analysis in the animal training fieldExperience working with animals in a professional content production or studio settingBackground in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or similar behavioral scienceExperience mentoring or training other animal handlersFamiliarity with various species and breed-specific needs and behaviorsExperience managing multiple animals and pet parents simultaneously
