Sr. Manager, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence & AI

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The technical Senior Manager, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and AI is a strategic leadership role responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-wide data platforms. This role drives the integration of data warehouse systems, business intelligence tools, and AI/ML capabilities to support advanced analytics, operational efficiency, and business innovation. The manager will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with business stakeholders, and ensure alignment with compliance, governance, and security standards. This role is responsible for leading development projects from inception through delivery.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Warehouse Architecture & Engineering




    • Define the overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) process, ODS (Operational Data Store) , EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse), and Data Marts)
    • Define best practices and ensure data standardization among all data warehouse architecture including but not limited to load strategies, package scripts, schemas, dimensions, fact tables, etc.
    • Lead the development and optimization of data pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory, and Informatica.
    • Oversee database administration tasks including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning (Snowflake, SQL Server)



Business Intelligence Strategy




    • Design and deliver BI dashboards and semantic models using Power BI and MS Fabric.
    • Establish metadata standards and ensure data consistency across reporting platforms.
    • Collaborate with business units to define KPIs and enable self-service analytics.



AI/ML Enablement




    • Lead AI/ML initiatives including model development, deployment, and MLOps using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Azure AI Foundry
    • Integrate predictive analytics and GenAI capabilities into business workflows (e.g., Power BI Copilot, OpenAI models).
    • Drive innovation through use cases in retail analytics, customer insights, and operational forecasting.



Governance & Compliance




    • Ensure adherence to NIST CSF and Hallmark standards for data security, incident management, and disaster recovery.
    • Implement data governance frameworks including cataloging, quality, and master data management.



Team Leadership & Collaboration




    • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, BI developers, and data scientists.
    • Partner with PMs, BAs, and business leaders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
    • Lead vendor engagements and oversee technology cost management.



In accordance with the NIST CSF and Hallmark Standards, ensure adherence to policies and processes to remain in compliance for maintenance, security continuous monitoring and recovery areas including Asset Management, Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Vulnerability & Patch Management, Data Security, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in computer science, information systems field with 7+ years of Business Intelligence work experience and 10+ years overall IT experience
  • Experience in leading multiple successful enterprise data warehousing efforts.
  • Expertise in data warehousing technologies (e.g. ETL, ODS, DBMS (Database Management Systems), BI) and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks
  • Strong data modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional).
  • Understanding of business data and its various sources including but not limited to SAP.
  • Understanding of database technologies and data warehouse methodologies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
