Duties include, but are not limited to: 
     Preserve the hull and components by sealing the submarine with chemicals and paints that prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine lifeInterpreting blueprints, technical manuals and shipyard proceduresSurface preparation and painting functions, which involves solvent washing, sanding and/or grit blastingMeasure and document paint thicknesses in order to maintain a high level of qualityUsing various shop equipment including table saws, drill presses, routers, sandblast equipment, brush, roller, airless spray and other specialized equipment and air and electric hand held tools This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.Qualifications
 
 Required: 
     High school diploma/GED OR a minimum of 2 years related technical experience Available to work all shiftsAbility to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required  Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools Preferred: 
     Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programsPainting experience in at least one of the following areas; Marine Industry, Industrial, residential, autobody or relevant trade experience and/or trainingMold makers, carpentry and masonry experience Experience applying coatings via brush, roller, conventional sprayers & airless sprayersKnowledge and use of Graco or equivalent painting tools & equipment NACE certification Ability to read blueprints and work with basic hand and power tools Military experienceSkills
