Overview

The Nursing Coordinator Supervisor is responsible for daily supervision and support of nursing coordinators while also performing the full scope of nursing coordinator duties. This working-supervisor role ensures accurate and efficient scheduling of patients, creation of delivery tickets for nurse billing, managing POT submission and retrieval according to state regulations, and management of home health agency scheduling, note retrieval and invoice payment. The Supervisor provides guidance, training, and oversight to coordinators while actively managing a personal caseload of scheduling and documentation responsibilities. The Nursing Coordinator Supervisor has knowledge of the nursing documentation system and working knowledge of Pharmacy Operating System to create nursing delivery tickets accurately and efficiently for billing.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily supervision and support to nursing coordinators to ensure scheduling accuracy and compliance with policy
  • Performs all nursing coordinator functions, including patient scheduling, creation of delivery tickets, and submission/retrieval of POTs
  • Monitors coordinator workflow queues, schedules, clinician visit logs, and documentation for timeliness and accuracy
  • Assists in training new nursing coordinators and provides ongoing coaching and guidance
  • Escalates employee performance or compliance issues to the Regional Director of Nursing as appropriate
  • Ensures that POTs and delivery tickets are submitted and processed within required timeframes
  • Collaborates with nurse managers and pharmacy operations to resolve scheduling and documentation issues
  • Knowledgeable to perform all nursing coordinator functions and resolves escalations regarding difficult cases
  • Provides thorough, accurate, and timely responses to requests regarding nursing coordinator information and ensures the same from the nursing coordinator team
  • Maintains effective communication with coordinators, nurse managers, regional directors of nursing, and pharmacy staff to support patient care

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' nursing scheduling experience in home care or home infusion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work with all levels of management and staff, vast knowledge of nursing coordination activities to include scheduling of subcontracted home health agencies, as well as Amerita nurses
  • Leadership skills, independent decision-making abilities, able to be resourceful and self-reliant, drive to learn desired
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Percentage of Travel: 0-25%
  • Driving Position: No

**To perform this role will require frequently sitting, standing, walking and occasionally bending, reaching, climbing (stairs/ladders). kneeling, crouching, stooping, and typing on a keyboard with fingers. The physical requirements will be the ability to push/pull and lift/carry 21-30 lbs**
