Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Henderson features 41 operational beds, a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center with surgical suites, advanced diagnostic technology, a maternity unit, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and an AASM-accredited sleep center.

Responsibilities

  • Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
  • Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
  • Delivers care consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current Texas RN license
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) before end of orientation
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) before end of orientation
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) before end of orientation
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One year of emergency nursing experience
  • Two years of acute care nursing experience
  • CEN
