| SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for using a variety of test equipment is responsible for performing tests on rubber hoses and rubber compounds to insure they meet the proper specifications.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
 Mill rubber samples into small sheets using a lab mill.Cut samples and strips to perform strength tests with a Tensiometer.Perform specific property tests on rubber using rheometers and Moonies.Collect hose samples from the production areas.Perform weight checks, dimension checks, adhesion tests, burst tests, and specialty tests on hose as defined in the Hose Test Master Sheet.Receive, verify, and test raw materials and file certificates of conformance.Record results of all tests and notify the appropriate supervisor if tests are out of specification.Perform monthly calibrations of quality measuring equipment in lab and production areasAble to foster professionalism with all associates along with internal and external customers Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately   DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
 Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. Participate on project teams, star point teams and kaizen events when needed.Attend and participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the roleAssist in training of new operators MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
