Structural Field Engineer

Play an integral role in delivering industrial projects with precision and accountability. As a Structural Field Engineer, you help ensure that reported progress truly reflects what is built in the field, keeping complex projects on track and strengthening the trust placed in us by our clients. Your work directly supports informed decision-making, accurate billing, and overall project integrity-all while contributing to a culture built on safety, respect, and technical excellence.

Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for validating installed structural quantities-including steel, concrete, and foundations-while supporting project controls, billing, and progress reporting. Your expertise ensures that project data is accurate, timely, and aligned with real-world construction progress.

Core Responsibilities

  • Validate installed structural quantities against progress claims to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed logs of installed steel, concrete, and structural elements for reporting, billing, and earned value measurement.
  • Identify, investigate, and document variances between reported and actual quantities.
  • Work closely with field supervision and project controls teams to deliver precise weekly structural quantity reporting.
  • Promote safe field practices and ensure compliance with company and site safety standards.
  • Provide guidance on structural quantity surveying systems, processes, and tools, supporting colleagues and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Prepare clear reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role

  • A university degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 7+ years of experience in industrial construction, field supervision, or project controls.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of structural steel, concrete, and foundations in the field.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in the field while applying analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience supervising or leading within your discipline is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • A solid understanding of structural field systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to coach and troubleshoot as needed.
