Patient Service Coordinator - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: 818 Congress St, Portland, ME
Department: MaineHealth Cardiovascular Surgery - Clinic Practice
Schedule: Monday-Friday, consistent hours | Day shift (7:30 AM - 4:00PM or 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM)
Remote Flexibility: Option for 1 remote day/week after completion of training

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting patients during their most important health journeys? MaineHealth is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team in Portland.

In this vital role, you will be the front-line support for patients undergoing open-heart surgery, assisting them through pre-op testing, surgical scheduling, and post-op appointments. Our surgeons rely heavily on their PSCs, and you'll play a key role in keeping care moving forward.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage complex scheduling and coordination for patient appointments and procedures

  • Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, and providers

  • Provide administrative and clerical support within a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Help maintain continuity of care through excellent communication and attention to detail

What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a patient services setting

  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping others

  • Comfort with electronic medical records and scheduling systems

  • Ability to work onsite with limited remote flexibility after training

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Two years of administrative patient service experience.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
