Summary: Responsibilities: Works closely with the Director of Graduate Medical Education to ensure that all GME residents and fellows receive excellent service from the GME Specialist team, and that they have access to appropriate HR services as offered both through the Office of Graduate Medical Education and UNC Hospitals. Partners with the Business Manager, and Information Systems Specialist to ensure appropriate and innovative use of both the residency management software and UNC Hospitals employment and compensation systems. Supervises a team of five GME Specialists Provides program distribution for each Specialist, ensuring equity in numbers of trainees assigned to each member of the Specialist team. Identifies and implements process improvements in coordination with departmental leadership. Oversees all aspects of performance management for the Specialist team, including recruitment and performance evaluations. Oversees and approves all leaves of absences for GME trainees, as outlined in the GME Comprehensive Leave policy.
