Working Title: Human Resources Director Classification: HR Manager 3 - Generalist, Job Code 9363GT Appointment: Full-time, Academic Professional & Administrative, Exempt Salary Range: $145,000 - $180,000; Depending on qualifications Location: Coffey Hall, St. Paul Campus Reports to: Dean and Director of Extension Apply By: October 24, 2025 About the PositionThe Human Resources Director provides strategic leadership for Extension's HR programs and services, partnering with administration, department, and unit leaders to develop a comprehensive HR framework. Collaborating with the University's Office of Human Resources, the director ensures alignment with University policies and oversees all HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, classification, compensation, and compliance. This position works in close collaboration with the central HR offices and aligns with their policies and guidance to ensure consistency with the overall Human Resources strategic plan. Reporting to the Dean and Director of Extension, the HR Director is a key member of Extension's leadership team and maintains a dotted line relationship with the University's Vice President of Human Resources. This position is located on the St. Paul campus, and requires regular work from a dedicated Extension office on campus, with some flexibility. When working remotely, the individual must be reachable by phone with a number published by the Extension directory. Some travel is conducted within the Twin Cities, and occasional travel within the state and national destinations is required. This position also requires the ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend work, as well as 1-2 overnight stays per year for meetings and conferences.
