We're seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Corporate Development group as a Director, Corporate Development. This critical role is at the forefront of crafting our company's future-providing leadership in identifying, recommending, structuring, and completing complex acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures at both the Corporate and business unit levels. You'll work closely with senior executives on high-impact critical initiatives aimed at enhancing shareholder value.

What you will do:

  • Originate, identify, evaluate and implement suitable corporate investment opportunities in cooperation with respective Enbridge business units
  • Identify, complete and negotiate potential asset divestitures in concert with respective Enbridge business units
  • Lead projects by personally designing and negotiating suitable structures and terms
  • Lead transactions and related project teams comprised of tax, treasury, legal and business unit representatives, accounting and external advisors to complete significant transactions with independent third-party counterparties, this also includes managing due diligence workstreams and presentations
  • Be responsible for the preparation of Management and Board materials supporting these acquisition and divestiture initiatives
  • Monitor and understand energy market fundamentals
  • Maintaining awareness of energy infrastructure developments including peer activities, acquisition opportunities and competitive landscape
  • Lead strategic dialogue and relationships with peers and investment banks
  • Direction, training and mentoring of analytical and execution support staff

Who you are:

You have:

  • 15+ years of experience in business preferably within the energy infrastructure segment along with an MBA/PHD from a nationally recognized program
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working on complex business ventures or investment opportunities

You can:

  • Offer subject matter expertise and outstanding financial savvy (e.g., modeling and evaluation, acquisitions and divestitures, capital investment and financial valuation)
  • Initiate and lead process management and implement large scale change amid shifting priorities

You are:

  • An excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills who can work and act independently
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory, accounting, taxation and financing issues while being a strong strategic problem solver

The following are considered assets:

  • Investment banking experience
  • CA (Chartered Accountant, CMA (Certified Management Accountant, or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) professional designation(s) preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in typical office environment with reasonable travel and stress levels that are above normal as the work is confidential, high visible (Often publicly disclosable), fast paced in a dynamic environment characterized by ambiguity. Numbers, often competing interests must be managed concurrently whilst negotiating and influencing at senior levels or the organization #topemployer

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
