Advantage Technical is hiring a Vehicle Manufacturing Engineer for a leading automotive manufacturer in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex production issues, and are driven to improve vehicle quality and customer satisfaction.

Pay: $46.06 per hour

Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze warranty claims and customer feedback to identify quality trends and root causes.
• Investigate vehicle and component issues on the assembly floor to develop Interim Containment Actions (ICA) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Stop Builds/Stop Ships, quality audits, and campaigns.
• Maintain and update Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) quality documents and lead efforts to achieve plant-level quality targets.
• Support engineering changes and product launches, ensuring proper validation and implementation.
• Work with suppliers and variability reduction teams to resolve sub-system and component issues.
• Conduct engineering trials, issue alerts, and manage product change concerns to improve manufacturing performance.
• Present findings and quality reports to senior leadership, including root cause analyses and corrective action updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) required.
• Experience in design, manufacturing, or process engineering within an automotive or industrial environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills using data-driven methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and trend identification.
• Experience using CAD software to evaluate part interfaces and support root cause investigations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior automotive manufacturing or vehicle assembly experience.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
