Job Description

Job Summary:
Assist in directing the daily operations in a unique and dynamic college residential dining facility. Assist in effectively directing the operation of assigned outlets to ensure that all designated procedures are followed and standards are met, resulting in fast, high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient food production and service to customers. Assist in supervising activities of assigned staff, including student and full-time employees. Assist in administering systems for inventorying, purchasing, pricing, producing, displaying, merchandising, marketing, advertising, promoting, and selling products and merchandise, making the most efficient and effective use of resources while maximizing sales and making a profit. Assist in meeting the department's customer service objectives by constantly analyzing unit operations to ensure maximum effectiveness and compliance with departmental and branded outlet objectives.

Assist in the strategic planning process for the department; assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, standards, goals, objectives, budget, and marketing/public relations activities; participate in departmental and campus-wide special project activities. Assist in communicating effectively and efficiently with customers, staff, University and community groups, branded company personnel, and vendor representatives. Participate in on-going training activities; assist in supervising students in courses that use the facilities as classrooms and interns/trainees; perform other duties as assigned.

Additional focus is to assist in the development of new, creative recipes and menus and to improve the quality, presentation, creativity, and show value of the food presented.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $64,860/year
Grade: GGS-9E
