Highly skilled Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (ISSE) to join our client's on-site team in Binghamton, NY. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring that classified information systems meet the highest standards of cybersecurity compliance and performance while supporting advanced defense programs.

You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, analyze, and implement secure, mission-ready systems that meet rigorous JSIG and RMF requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure classified systems comply with cybersecurity requirements, government directives, and industry standards.

  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to define architectures and deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

  • Apply knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, network technologies, and IT infrastructure management.

  • Conduct security assessments, implement Continuous Monitoring tools, and maintain RMF/JSIG compliance.

  • Perform system-level analysis and trade studies to define and allocate functional requirements.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate program risks while ensuring all project requirements and processes are met.

  • Recommend and implement system enhancements to optimize performance, reliability, and cybersecurity posture.

  • Serve as a Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSE) providing expert technical leadership and hands-on support.

What You'll Bring

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of systems experience.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Experience supporting military or defence programs.
  • Proven experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST800-53.
  • Experience in developingandmaintainingsecurity documentation, including SSPs, SARs, and POA&Ms.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Good critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.
  • Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration, and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting customer needs into achievable requirements or capabilities.
  • Experience working in air-gapped, classified, or highly secure environments with no direct internet access.
  • Experience using compliance and vulnerability assessment tools, including ACAS, Tenable, Nessus, SCAP, or HBSS
  • Monitoring and correlating data (logs, events, activity) from various sources (Splunk, ELA, ePO, ESS, ACAS) to identify and mitigate threats, vulnerabilities, and non-compliance issues.
  • Basic scripting for automation (Bash/Powershell)
  • Networking experience - TCP/IP, DNS, NetBIOS, switching, firewalls
  • Experience in Open Mission Systems/Universal Command and Control Interface (OMS/UCI).
  • Familiarity with open system architectures (ASPN, CMOSS, PNTOS, JADC2).
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, for airworthiness, ARINC and RTCA standards.
