The Commercial Trade Advisor is responsible for supporting day-to-day project and service operations by managing quotes, sourcing and purchasing materials, coordinating vendor and supplier activities, scheduling equipment and permits, and providing technical assistance to field teams. This role serves as a central point of contact between the field, suppliers, and management to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review and validate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy, scope, and compliance.
  • Source, purchase, and track delivery of parts, equipment, and materials for multiple trades.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Schedule cranes, lifts, and other specialized equipment as required for project needs.
  • Coordinate permits and ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Obtain and coordinate roof sweep quotes and services to support project scheduling.
  • Provide technical support to field teams across all trades, troubleshooting issues and resolving project challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, scheduling, and vendor communications.
  • Work closely with project managers, foremen, and administrative staff to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project timelines and assist in resolving delays or material shortages.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in purchasing, scheduling, and vendor management processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, and trade-specific requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management software, procurement platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and supplier relations.
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide technical support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes and construction compliance requirements preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with a balance of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various business documents pertaining to construction management
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work
  • Must thrive in an energetic, fast-paced environment while working as a team or independently
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction coordination, project support, or procurement.
