As a Manager within our SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting group, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial information for SEC filings and reviewing month end and quarterly topside journal entries, as well as managing and training other accountants and specialists. Other key responsibilities would include:

Role Responsibilities




  • Prepares and reviews various financial statements for SEC and regulatory filings.



  • Assist in the preparation and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K.



  • Perform research on technical accounting issues including preparation of related memoranda and analysis that ensures appropriate accounting presentation for topics such as business combinations, impairments, hedge accounting, lease accounting, revenue recognition, etc.



  • Review month end journal entries.



  • Prepare, review and analyze month end reporting schedules.



  • Analyze complex balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and Western Union accounting policies.



  • Work with business partners, including both the VP and the Director of Financial Reporting, to analyze, monitor, interpret, implement, and resolve new and proposed accounting and disclosure requirements and regulatory reporting issues.



  • Design and develop ad hoc reporting.



  • Participate in complex accounting and reporting projects such as system implementations, purchase accounting for M&A activity, new product launches, etc.



  • Manage, mentor and train other Accountants and Specialists.



  • Assist with special projects as they arise and actively participate in initiating and implementing process improvements.



  • Responsible for managing people; hiring, performance reviews and compensation decisions. Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role.




Role Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.



  • Minium 5 to 7 years' experience in financial accounting and 3 to 5 years of leading a team.



  • CPA Required.



  • 5+ years of accounting experience with experience in technical accounting and SEC reporting.



  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.



  • Advanced problem solving, technical, decision-making, communication and diplomacy skills.



  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, preferably with Oracle.



  • HFM experience preferred.



  • Advanced system skills including MS Excel and Word



  • Ability to analyze working processes for potential efficiencies and help implement automated solutions to achieve greater efficiencies.



  • Demonstrated leadership ability.



  • Experience working with multiple departments and multiple management levels.



  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.



  • Strong communication skills, including ability to influence others and work effectively across geographies and functions in a matrix organization as well as to clearly and concisely present findings at all levels of the organization.



  • Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple staff, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and produce quality work while dealing with interruptions.

Salary

The base salary range is $120,000-$140,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
