As a Navigation intern at Reliable Robotics, you will work with a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aviation, space, robotics and self-driving cars to support our autonomous flight systems. Reliable Robotics has year-round internship opportunities for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field of study. Successful candidates will work alongside senior engineers to design, implement, and test navigation systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and test navigation flight software
  • Improve simulation sensor models for evaluation of the navigation system
  • Build infrastructure for automated simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing of navigation sensors and algorithms
  • Integrate and verify navigation system features in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
  • Develop flight test plans and conduct post-test data review.
Basic Success Criteria
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • A solid understanding of fundamentals -- engineering math, numerical methods, and state estimation
  • Proficient in any of C/C++/Python
  • Proactive and motivated to tackle hard problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Success Criteria
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or similar advanced degree
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: sensor fusion and Kalman filtering, GNSS navigation, inertial navigation

The location of the position is in Mountain View, CA. No travel is required. The estimated annualized salary for this position is $120,000.
This position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export controls. An offer of employment will be contingent upon the applicant's capacity to perform in compliance with U.S. export control laws.
