Description

In this role you will provide behavioral health support in the Division of Digestive Diseases. The Clinical Social Worker (GI-LCSW) will provide behavioral health support in the Division of Digestive Diseases. The GI LCSW will apply first line interventions in a time-limited setting for a broad spectrum of GI conditions with a range of physical symptoms and associated psychological or behavioral health symptoms experienced by adult patients throughout the adult lifespan. The GI LCSW will provide triage, assessment, and brief, evidence-based, solution-focused assessments and interventions within a GI specialty medical care setting and work collaboratively with the Gastroenterologists, Dietitians, and Integrative health providers in order to give our patients the comprehensive care they deserve. Clinical Social Worker is responsible for working collaboratively with the patient, Faculty Practice Group, community resources, other providers, the UCLA Health System to implement, coordinate, and monitor options and services to meet GI/Liver patients' healthcare needs at the appropriate level and mix of care.

In addition to direct patient care duties, you will be instrumental in:

  • Updating and enhancing our program's resource referral networks and websites, curating accessible information and resources tailored to our patients' diverse needs.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary activities, complies with departmental standards regarding attendance, documentation, continuous quality improvement, statistics, departmental policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethics.
  • Keeping current with professional social work health care knowledge base and pursues further enhancement of job-related knowledge The overall mission of this clinic is to provide integrative health care to patients for their digestive disorders.

Salary Range: $108,450.72 - $129,623.04/yearly

Qualifications

Required:

1. A Master's Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

2. Post-masters social work experience in a healthcare setting is required.

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

4. Strong relationship building skills.

5. Demonstrated skill in targets psychosocial assessments of patients, and clinical interventions with patients in a medical setting.

6. Demonstrated work with interdisciplinary teams.

7. Must participate in at least one area of specialized practice annually (see list of specialized practice activities).

Must have strong problem solving skills.

8. Ability to analyze problems and formulate plans, solutions and a course of action given changing circumstances.

9. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.

10. Strong ability to prioritize.

11. Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills such as Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems

(Epic medical record system).

12. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

13. Ability to articulate clinical and non-clinical information to individuals of all levels of understanding.

14. Ability to be flexible and work according to availability of office personnel, patient and resources required to coordinate care of patient, including both group-

and individually-delivered care, and both in person and virtual/telemedicine visits.

  • Clinical experience with patients with GI disorders or chronic pain
