This position is a part-time to full-time role, requiring at least 30 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week.

We Require

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other related field of study.

We Also Value

Budget and finance experience is preferred but not required.

Job Contributions

  • Assists with budget oversight for assigned functional areas. Reviews departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary and policy guidelines
  • Assists with budget development and related documents, such as budget targets, analysis reports, and recommendations for assigned areas
  • Supports departments on long-range forecasts of revenues, expenditures, demands for services, and other business issues
  • Assists with standard administrative and systems studies, financial analyses, and basic statistical and research studies
  • Evaluates legislative and other policy change proposals for budgetary impacts
  • Helps organize and combine budget adjustment documents for record-keeping
  • Provides operational support to the Budget Division as needed

Working Conditions

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule that requires access to a computer and high-speed internet; hybrid flexibility is available after a brief training period
  • The position may require occasional travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County or private vehicles for County business.
  • Requires working standard business hours Monday through Friday and may be required to work after hours on weekends or holidays as needed during the pressing months of the budget cycle.
  • Limited availability for vacation use from January to June.
  • The employee in this position may be frequently subjected to time pressures, multiple or complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, decision-making, and teamwork.
  • May require long periods of sitting, reading, and typing.
