Job Title: Aircraft Life Support Technician Location: China Lake, CA /Edwards AFB, CA /Palmdale, CA /Henderson, NV (Primarily at China Lake but may need to go to the other locations to support program) Duration: 12 months assignment with possible extension Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (20 hours per week, could be 40 hours at times pending need) Pay Rate: $54/hr. W2 Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Role & Responsibilities: Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of aviation life support equipment, including flight suits, helmets, oxygen systems, ejection seats, and survival gear. Support flight operations by ensuring all ALSS equipment meets regulatory and program-specific requirements. Coordinate with flight crews, maintenance teams, and program managers to maintain ALSS readiness and compliance. Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians and flight personnel on ALSS procedures and safety protocols. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ALSS technical orders, manuals, and regulatory guidance. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ALSS program effectiveness and safety. Required Skills: Qualified Aviation Life Support Systems Technician through a U.S. military service, FAA certification, or an equivalent recognized program. Experience supporting military aviation life support programs, preferably with F-15, F/A-18, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of military and FAA aviation safety standards, technical orders, and maintenance procedures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Proficient in using maintenance tracking systems and standard office software (e.g., MS Office). U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in a military or defense contractor environment. Familiarity with multiple aircraft types and associated ALSS equipment. Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse teams including pilots, maintenance personnel, and management. Ability to obtain a contractor Common Access Card (CAC) to military installations. Required Education: AA degree in related discipline and typically 6 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
