The Intelligence Production Solutions Division (IPSD), part of the Decision Advantage Solutions Business Area, is currently seeking a Senior Training Coordinator/Instructional Designerto join theChinook Program supporting Task Order 2 (TO2). The Senior Training Coordinator/Instructional Designer will take a leadership role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training programs for National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) personnel and other stakeholders, with a focus on geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) systems, tools, and workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in instructional design, training coordination, and management of complex training initiatives in a technical and intelligence-driven environment.

Position may be performed in the following locations below. Please note Gaithersburg, MD is the program's primary work location.

Clearance Level Required:

Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI, as well as a Polygraph.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementationof advanced training programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of NGA users and mission objectives.
  • Manage theend-to-end training process, from needs analysis and content development to delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Create and deliver customized training materialssuch as CONUS and OCONUS instructor-led courses, e-learning modules, job aids, and user documentation, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with NGA's geospatial intelligence tools.
  • Act as asubject matter expert in instructional designmethodologies, applying adult learning principles and best practices to create effective learning experiences.
  • Coordinate training schedules, logistics, and resources to support both in-person and virtual training sessions for NGA personnel.
  • Partner closely with NGA mission stakeholders, technical teams, and SMEs to identify user requirements and define clear, measurable learning objectives for training programs.
  • Evaluate and assess training effectivenessthrough feedback, testing, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement of training initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations on technology tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual learning platforms to enhance training delivery and tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with NGA's policies and procedures related to training, documentation, and security.
  • Stay current on industry trends ininstructional designandgeospatial intelligence technologies, leveraging emerging tools and techniques to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation oftrain-the-trainer programsto build internal capacity and ensure sustainable training efforts.
  • Monitor and reporton key training metrics, including participant engagement, completion rates, and knowledge retention.
  • Gather and identify lessons learned and user feedback for continuous training improvement. Additionally implementing feedback loops with the software development team for software improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US citizenship is required per contract.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training & Development, or related field and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience intraining coordination,instructional design, or related fields, with a focus on GEOINTor similar technical environments.
  • Proven expertise indesigning and developing training programsusing instructional design methodologies.
  • Extensive experience witheLearning development toolssuch asAdobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge oflearning management systems (LMS)and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams).
  • Familiarity withGEOINT systems(e.g.,ArcGIS,Google Earth,NGA tools) and an understanding of how they support NGA missions.
  • Experience inleading training initiativesand managing complex training projects within a dynamic, technical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging training content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge ofGEOINT,geospatial data analysis, andmapping technologies.
  • Familiarity withAgile methodologiesand understanding of how to incorporate these into the training development process.
  • Advanced knowledge ofgeospatial intelligence,geospatial data analysis, andmapping technologies.
  • Familiarity withAgile methodologiesand experience working inAgile environments.
  • Experience inproject managementand familiarity with tools such asConfluence, Jira, Microsoft PowerPoint or Project.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and interact effectively with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.
