Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Event Technology Operations Manager to operate, maintain, and advance the wide range of permanent and mobile audio, video, lighting, scoring, and communication systems that support athletic and non-athletic events across the Mizzou's sports park.

Reporting to the Director of Event Technology Operations, this position will play a pivotal role in delivering seamless in-venue experiences by overseeing technology operations for competitions, practices, and special events. The manager will work closely with event management, coaches, production staff, and campus technology partners to ensure reliable event execution and long-term innovation in an environment that continually grows in scope and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Event Technology Operations (35%)
Operate and maintain a variety of permanent and mobile audio, video, lighting, scoring, timing, house lighting, specialty lighting, and communication systems.
Ensure systems are fully available, prepared, and optimized for athletics competitions, practices, and special events.
Participate in primary event management planning and consultation to support consistent and effective use of technology.

Process Development and Continuous Improvement (25%)
Review, establish, and update operating processes and procedures for sport and non-sport event technology.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and fan/student-athlete experience.
Maintain documentation, training, and standard operating procedures for staff and event support teams.

Collaboration and Consultation (20%)
Routinely consult with coaches, athletics staff, and event managers to align technology needs with event goals.
Collaborate and coordinate with other Mizzou Sports Technology groups to support broad departmental technology functions.
Serve as liaison with campus IT, Facilities, and third-party vendors to integrate technology solutions.

Planning, Training, and Support (15%)
Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of part-time or student event technology staff.
Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during live events.
Assist with multi-year planning for upgrades, replacements, and new technology integrations.

Other Duties (5%)
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC event operation policies and procedures.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in Athletics or Business Operations is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.00-$24.00 / hour

Grade: GGS-007
