Utz Quality Foods is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections Specialist to join our team of Finance professionals in Hanover, PA. The A/R Collections Specialist is responsible for investigation of invoice and/or payment discrepancies, communication with customers, and execution duties according to established policies, procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities



  • Utilize the Collections Module, ERP, Cash Application system, Distribution portals, Transportation and Trade Spend system
  • Review past due balances for assigned customers and contact them requesting payment
  • Research and resolve unapplied payments on customer accounts
  • Research invoicing and/or payment issues
  • Foster positive written and/or verbal customer relationships
  • Identify payment exceptions and investigate root causes
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive notes on customer issues
  • Report weekly and monthly status of customer collections
  • Complete other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of the company and department objectives


Job Requirement



  • Bookkeeping experience of two or more years; education may substitute for up to one year of experience
  • Keyboard and number pad literacy associated with three years of experience in a business office and/or customer service; education may substitute for up to two years of experience
  • General understanding of the business operations related to the snack food industry
  • General understanding of accounting principles, statements, and reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Business mathematics skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Analytical, business process, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
