  • $71K - $99K annually
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Workers' Compensation:Manage the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims, from initial reporting to claim closure. You will serve as the primary liaison between injured employees, medical providers, and our insurance carrier, ensuring prompt and compassionate care. You will also develop and manage effective return-to-work programs and analyze data to identify trends and implement preventative measures to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Employee Relations:Serve as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for employees and managers on a variety of HR-related topics. You will conduct thorough and objective employee relations investigations, resolve conflicts, and guide disciplinary actions in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Recruiting and Onboarding:Manage end-to-end recruitment cycle for assigned roles, primarily supporting operational and field staff positions. This includes developing job descriptions, sourcing candidates through produce industry channels and local networks, screening applications, conducting interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers to extend offers.
  • Learning and Development:Administer learning and development programs: Manage and deliver a range of employee training programs, including new supervisor development, performancemanagement, HRIS utilization, and state-mandated compliance training. Ensure compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure all training content is compliant and effectively communicated to employees and managers. Measure effectiveness: Partner with leadership to evaluate the impact of training programs on employee skills and business objectives.
  • Safety Program Support:Champion a safety-first culture by supporting and collaborating with our safety and operations teams. You will participate in safety committee meetings, help facilitate safety training, and ensure HR policies and procedures support a safe working environment.
  • Benefits Communication:Partner with corporate HR and benefits manager to lead the annual open enrollment process and drive strategic benefits initiatives. This includes developing clear communication plans, facilitating employee education, and identifying opportunities to streamline administrative workflows for greater efficiency.
  • Employee Engagement:Lead the planning and execution of divisional employee appreciation events, collaborating with a dedicated committee and senior leadership for employee recognition, leveraging appreciation events to strengthen engagement and retention.
Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Proven Experience:A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or produce-related environment.
  • Expert Knowledge:A solid understanding of employee relations, recruitment best practices, and federal and state employment laws, particularly concerning Workers' Compensation and safety.
  • Professional Certification:PHR or SHRM-CP certification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong Communication:An approachable and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic Mindset:The ability to think both tactically and strategically, identifying trends and developing solutions to complex challenges.
