Position Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Test Engineer and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Advanced Projects section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract. Duties And Responsibilities
Some of your major responsibilities will include:
- Lead development and perform testing of new and existing dust mitigation test campaigns within EX2 in support of multiple Artemis programs.
- Train supporting group members on handling the hardware and instrumentation for the test campaign while maintaining a safety-oriented mindset.
- Lead procurement efforts of testing hardware and materials to conduct the test campaign.
- Coordinate with testing facilities and equipment owners to schedule testing needs and develop test procedures.
- Develop essential documentation for the test campaigns, including: test plans, hazard analyses, test procedures, Test Readiness.
- Review documentation, and any additional operations-related products - Collaborate needs from PIs (Principal Investigators) to ensure stakeholder expectations are met and test plans/procedures are up-to-date.
- Coordinate updates to NASA-STD-1008, the NASA Dust Testing Standard, and lead discussions to incorporate state-of-the-art input from Agency dust subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Perform analysis on test campaign results and collaborate with EX2 Dust subject matter experts for stakeholder input .
- Present findings of test campaigns in various forums (Dust Mitigation Stakeholders WG, Program Meetings, etc.) to inform community members.
- Publish findings in a relevant aerospace journal or NASA-TM.
- Train supporting group members and interns on test planning and execution best practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM.
- Environmental test experience on human spaceflight systems.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of systems engineering.
- Performed intermediate systems engineering tasking.
- 10 years of experience (including applicable internships and/or research projects).
- CAD (CREO, Solidworks, AutoCAD).
- General knowledge across multiple disciplines of science and engineering.
PREFERRED :
- Experience working with particle environments and wearing PPE.
- Intermediate experience using Labview
- Intermediate experience using Microscopy
- Experience performing image analysis
- Experience testing in Vacuum chambers
- Understanding of circuits and circut design
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
