Purpose of the Role
The Testing Manager plays a key role in Worley's mission to deliver a more sustainable world by ensuring construction projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual, financial, and sustainability objectives. This role is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with Worley's quality standards and customer expectations. By leading project teams, providing technical guidance, and leveraging innovative solutions, this position directly contributes to the successful transition toward more sustainable energy sources while supporting the delivery of critical energy, chemical, and resource projects that society relies on today.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction and project management for construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while meeting contractual obligations.

  • Develop and define project goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with customer requirements and Worley's commitment to sustainability.

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation activities.

  • Coordinate and manage project teams, assigning work, providing technical guidance, and fostering collaboration to achieve project milestones.

  • Oversee construction execution activities, including pipe testing and verification to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure transparent communication and alignment on project objectives.

  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and cost control.

  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports, proposals, and presentations to stakeholders and senior leadership to communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations.

  • Provide mentorship to project staff and junior engineers, supporting their development and enhancing team capability.

  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with Worley's policies, procedures, and sustainability ambitions, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • University degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Extensive experience in construction project management, including pipe testing, pressure testing, and system verification for industrial projects.

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, contract administration, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions with financial, environmental, and operational implications, balancing customer needs with organizational objectives.

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience assigning work, guiding project teams, and potentially conducting performance evaluations.

  • Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to persuade, influence, and build consensus across diverse groups.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of resolving technical and logistical challenges using sound judgment and available resources.

  • Proficient in construction-related systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and assist others in their effective use.

  • Commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality in all phases of project execution, including pipe testing and commissioning activities.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing competing demands while maintaining focus on critical objectives
