Who We Are Looking For



As a member of the Product Management team, you are responsible for driving business value for Crisis24 while delighting our customers. You own the vision and strategy for your product portfolio from concept to end-of-life, and lead a team of product managers to support this. To optimize your portfolio for success, you always consider the larger Crisis24 ecosystem - providing the bridge between business and technology, and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (both internal and external).



In this particular position, you would own the State-and-Local Government (SLG) market product portfolio, where established scope is oriented towards providing solutions to enable mass notification to the public/residents in defined jurisdictions, with opportunity to evolve to other solution areas.



What You Will Be Doing

Portfolio Management



  • Understand the business goals and support the VP Product Management with defining the Product strategy and annual objectives, with respect to your portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain your portfolio roadmap in alignment with the business goals and the Product objectives.
  • Be Product Management Lead for annual objective(s) that significantly align with (but are not necessarily wholly within) your portfolio.



People Management



  • Manage product managers in your team, including team structure and responsibility assignment, performance management, professional development and recruitment.
  • Foster curiosity and adoption of AI tooling within your team to enable greater efficiencies and speed to market without compromising on quality.



Market-Facing



  • Identify and own the customer needs and problems, both for existing customers and the larger prospective market.
  • Understand the overall market and competitive dynamics for offerings within your portfolio.
  • Iteratively develops product and feature requirements and acceptance criteria - consulting with clients, sales, and other stakeholders internally and externally - including outlining the market/customer problems we are trying to solve and business goals we are trying to achieve.
  • Support go-to-market activities, including communicating internally, assisting with product marketing elements, coordinating internal and customer-facing preview programs, initiating updates to Sales and Contract Management tools, and ensuring support for Demos and Trials.
  • Demonstrate the product capabilities to customers and internal stakeholders as necessary, for existing features and new releases, and document feedback.



Product Development



  • Identify and define opportunities within your portfolio for increasing internal efficiencies to provide a better quality, reduced costs, and/or increased productivity.
  • Prioritize and specifically define that which is most valuable to Crisis24 to be delivered next for your portfolio, and be able to clearly articulate this value.
  • Create stories and scenarios that comprise the product requirements.
  • Work with UX on design and refinement of the user interaction.
  • Participate in meetings involving key members of senior leadership as well as peers, and present updates on your portfolio.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of personas relevant for your portfolio.
  • Create and manage the subscription model, packaging and overall purchasing model for the go-to-market offerings within your portfolio.
  • Understand the usage, profitability and ROI for your portfolio products, as part of the product lifecycle management.
  • Use metrics to gauge user adoption, observe user behavior, and make data-driven priority decisions.



Interaction with Delivery & Engineering teams



  • Present comprehensive requirements to engineering during pre-grooming, to enable refinement of stories.
  • Understand Agile/Scrum methodologies and support iterative design and continuous improvement practices.
  • Answer question from developers, clarify requirements, and describe priority for the product development.
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership on Buy/Build/Partner decisions pertaining to product development within your portfolio.



Other suitable responsibilities as directed by the VP Product Management from time to time.


What You Will Bring




  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, software, or another relevant field is desired.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, or business analysis relating to software development.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or person management role.
  • Experience engaging with customers to understand their unmet needs and explain clearly which of their problems the product suite can solve.
  • Collaborative, with a pragmatic/flexible attitude, able to work effectively across teams internally and also with customers.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and make decisions.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and actively listen to customer requirements.


Reporting and Place of Work


This role will report directly to VP, Product Management.



  • It is desirable that you be located near Crisis24's regional office in Annapolis, US, to work in the office at the company's discretion.
  • You must have the right to work in the United States (as applicable) without restrictions.
  • You would have to pass a pre-employment check.
