This is a hybrid remote role preferably based out of Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, or Berkeley Heights, NJ. We may consider colleagues with this specific expertise outside of these two locations based on level of experience.

What the day will look like
  • Account Management responsibility for Professional Services clients, principally top 50 accounting, and consulting firm clients.
  • Accountable for the development of new and existing business.
  • Builds, expands, and solidifies relationships with existing clients at executive levels within the company and leads appropriate resources to address the client's risk/capital management needs.
  • Senior specialty (professional liability, cyber liability employment practices liability and management/directors & officers liability) product line responsibility for all assigned clients including all communications, market interaction and related work product.
  • Leading all aspects of senior level underwriting partnerships; leading all advertising and market connections for the team.
  • Take charge of discussions with underwriters on challenging and/or advanced renewals/fresh business prospects. Negotiate best possible price and capacity using knowledge, expertise, and market presence for desired cover.
  • Prepares and negotiates fee-based pricing of services, ensuring account profitability in a value-based approach for the scope of service and costs associated with the client service agreement.
  • Penetration of all product line offerings. Able to understand the Client, their industry and their risks and match them with potential Aon solutions.
  • Lead/manage a team of specialty lines professionals.
  • Coordinate actuarial, captive, and other consulting services available to clients.
  • Effectively deliver global service through network relationships, where applicable, including local Aon offices/producer network.
  • Cultivate new business prospects for Aon within the financial services consulting realm.
  • Analyzes the range of risk financing programs commercially available. Performs coverage comparisons with brokers where needed across all major lines of business.
  • Secures existing business and drives the sale of additional services and coverages across solution lines. Works at a strategic level to cultivate relationships with the client.
  • Identifies and generates new and penetration business opportunities across solution lines. Collaborates with Producers on new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Aon's resources and capabilities. Efficiently employs the Aon network to achieve client risk objectives. Conduct needs assessments of client's business objectives and coordinates Aon's Resources to execute client's needs.
  • Assesses client's business objectives and coordinates Aon's capabilities to meet client requirements.
  • Stays current on all relevant industry data and is pro-active in introducing innovative ideas to help clients contemplate risk management with new perspective.
  • Possesses strong influence across the Aon organization to align resources to best serve the client's needs. Solves the clients most sophisticated risk management problems.
  • Travel required.
How this opportunity is different

Act as Account Executive and Team Leader on large and complex Professional Service firm placements. Develop and improve connections with both fresh and current clients by providing the desired client experience and value proposition. Strategically lead and develop the team responsible for client services. Ensure all clients' needs are promptly and accurately satisfied; ensure all deadlines are met on a timely basis; ensure quality standards are maintained and handle projects independently and creatively. Grasp/understand topics involving our specialty industry niche.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Minimum ten years related insurance or reinsurance experience.
  • Will consider candidates with insurance and reinsurance broking, underwriting, claims and captive insurance company experience in the specialty lines area.
  • Corporate risk management experience, especially in a Professional Services firm environment will be considered.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA, JD or other graduate a plus.
  • Insurance licensing as required 120 days after hire date.

The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $245,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
