Department Summary

This role is based in Business Strategy & Operations (BSO) which serves as the strategic backbone and operational enabler for Product Development Data Sciences (PDD). The function ensures organizational excellence through robust quality frameworks, optimized resourcing, and aligned strategic execution. BSO brings together cross-functional capabilities across quality and compliance, workforce planning, and strategic operations to empower leaders and teams to deliver with focus, transparency, and accountability. By connecting enterprise priorities with operational realities, BSO drives consistency, clarity, and coordinated progress across PDD and the broader development organization.

The Opportunity:

Resourcing & Metrics Specialists within the Business Strategy & Operations (BSO) function plays a key role in supporting effective resource planning, contractor management, and headcount tracking across Roche's PDD portfolio. These roles contribute to workforce planning, budget tracking, and capacity insights by maintaining accurate data and partnering closely with Finance, HR, and functional leads. As part of the Resourcing & Metrics team, Resourcing & Metrics Specialists ensure transparency, operational excellence, and timely resourcing decisions across a dynamic portfolio of work.

  • You coordinate and maintain resource tracking systems and dashboards, ensuring alignment between planned and actual headcount and contractor data.

  • You manage the contracting and invoice processing needs across PDD, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.

  • You manage the overall process to drive ExBP contractor onboarding, renewal, and offboarding for PDD.

  • You are accountable to raise issues related to contract or purchase order discrepancies, escalating those that may impact PDD deliverables or finances.

  • You support functional leaders with resourcing insights and provide regular reports on hiring progress, vacancies, and contractor coverage.

  • You assist with the implementation of planning tools or automation features to improve visibility and efficiency.

  • You build foundational knowledge of resourcing and metrics data, developing the ability to explain trends and variances with clarity.

  • You proactively surface simple gaps or inconsistencies, escalating issues with recommendations for resolution.

Who You Are

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Finance, or a related field.

  • You bring 2-4 years of experience in resourcing coordination, headcount tracking, or business operations; or an advanced degree with 0-2 years of equivalent work experience.

  • You have a working knowledge of workforce planning principles and budget alignment.

  • You are proficient in Excel and familiar with planning or analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Anaplan).

  • You demonstrate capacity for independent thinking and the ability to make decisions based upon sound principles.

  • You show excellent strategic agility including problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and agility that extends beyond the technical domain.

  • You demonstrate respect for cultural differences when interacting with colleagues in the global workplace.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience managing data for clinical trials (e.g., CRF design, query resolution).

  • Knowledge of vendor onboarding or governance practices.

  • Exposure to internal training development or rollout processes.

  • Proficiency in collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Suite).

  • Ability to translate stakeholder feedback into process enhancements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional partners.

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $89,500.00 and $147,000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
