Description
This position requires a qualified person to plan, design, analyze, optimize, and continuously improve Amada's manufacturing processes. Individuals in this role need to effectively comprehend manufacturing processes and work with cross functional teams to support product development and production activities for new and existing machine tool products. The responsibility of the manufacturing engineer is to create, document, develop, improve, and implement the processes and procedures required to manufacture, assemble, test, and produce products efficiently with continuous improvement in mind. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan, develop, analyze, evaluate, improve, and document internal as well as external manufacturing processes.
- Design, develop, and implement process control techniques and procedures into the current manufacturing environment to improve process flow.
- Support production activities to ensure products are manufactured and built to engineering standards and product specifications.
- Plan and conduct specific activities that drive the promotion of improving product quality, cost, and delivery.
- Create official Engineering documents including drawings and specifications.
- Create Production Control Documents designed for process checking, material handling, and QA/QC activities.
- Create process procedures and work instructions utilized by production employees.
- Introduce and implement manufacturing changes through the MEIS notification system while following through to monitor process and production changes - providing support for front-office processes, pre-production activities, and production personnel training.
- Analyze and plan workflow and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Participate in supporting company required activities including but not limited to internal auditing, compliance oversight, and other company initiatives.
- Provide continuous support of company policies, procedures, goals, directives, and objectives.
NON-CRITICAL FUNCTIONS
- Organize and maintain databases, files, and records.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work environment.
- Perform various office and production activities that contribute to the overall function of Amada production, sales, and service functions in those facilities.

KNOWLEDGE
- Understanding of the principles of manufacturing techniques, fabrication methods, welding, machining, metal finishes, material hardening specifications, engineering standards, and heat treatments.
- Understanding of the principles of mechanical design and machinery including metal fabrication machinery.
- Understanding of the principles of materials, metals processing, tooling design, and fixturing.
- Understanding of creating, organizing, and writing work instructions and procedures.
- Understanding of manufacturing planning and product realization.
- Ability to grasp modern technology and its relative concepts quickly.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
- Understanding of ANSI and ISO drafting standards.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (ASME Y14.9).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
- Some understanding of basic engineering tools including LEAN, 5S/6S, 5Y, Kaizen, Kanban
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP functions (INFOR preferred)
- Knowledge in the application of AWS Symbols and practices.
SKILLS
- Basic Skills in SolidWorks 3-D modeling and/or AutoCAD 2D layouts.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must have good analytical skills and should be detail oriented.

- Ability to clearly understand, accept, and follow instructions completely.

Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands

- Employees are occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, onsite position.
- Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
- Pay Range: $75,000.00-$85,000.00
Travel
- Travel is primarily local during the regular business work hours.
- Some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline desired.
- Experience and/or training in manufacturing work environment.
- Computer Assisted Design (CAD): SolidWorks 3D modeling desired.
