Coho Technology Solutionsis seeking a skilled and safety-focusedShip to Shore Electrician to support shore power operations for the Navy in San Diego. This hands-on role involves the connection, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage shore power systems to naval and private vessels, as well as contractor and government equipment on piers and barges. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in electrical systems, who is comfortable working in physically demanding and variable environments, including emergency call-back scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Connect and disconnect temporary electrical power services to/from vessels and equipment.
  • Lay out, splice, test, and handle shore power cables weighing up to 10 lbs/foot.
  • Manufacture, maintain, and repair cables rated up to 4160 volts and 400 amps.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including switches, motors, controllers, breakers, and plugs (24V DC to 4160V AC).
  • Operate and maintain low-voltage power breakers, motor controllers, and other associated equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to perform electrical diagnostics and repairs.
  • Follow electrical codes, safety standards, and company protocols.
  • Operate heavy equipment including:


    • 70-ton vehicle-mounted crane (Class B CDL required or ability to obtain)
    • 6,000 lbs - 15,000 lbs rated forklift
    • 10-ton boom truck


  • Use hand, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools to install and connect cables and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex cabling systems, shipboard distribution systems, voltage regulators, and telecommunication circuits.
  • Inspect and maintain hydraulic systems.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting (>45 lbs), climbing, working in awkward positions, and accessing confined spaces or elevated platforms.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at all hours, including emergency response situations.


Qualifications:



  • Experience: Demonstrated experience working with high-voltage electrical systems and marine/industrial environments.
  • Licensing: Must be able to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical theory, codes, and regulations.
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment, hand tools, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically strenuous tasks and work in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Communication: Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Availability: Willingness to respond to emergency callbacks on nights, weekends, and holidays.
